Tips For Expanding Your Kitchen Space

By Kimberly Jenson

Cooking is akin to playing orchestra. The chef needs to manage and co-ordinate quite a few activities all at once including what is cooking on the stove, in the oven, prepare ingredients on the kitchen table, take out vessels that are required and use various equipments to grind, chop, mix etc. God forbid if the kitchen is small and has no adequate space to turn around, they will find it hard to get going.

Quite a few kitchens do not have a worktable. This seems very inconvenient, but then look at it again, may be it helps remove some clutter from the kitchen and make it free to move around.
Not to miss out on the kitchen counters. These are very useful and multi purpose too. Whatever chefs do on the kitchen table can be done on the counters too.

Though you need kitchen floor space, it is not for cooking or preparing fool sitting on the floor. It is unhygienic and not a practice that is convenient. Kitchen counters equipped with smooth table tops in granite, marble or some other strong tiles with the right height helps one cook day in and day out without having to bend or break the back.

However kitchen tables are always very useful and multi purpose that enable you to prepare the food at one central place without having to move about. Thereby you can use counters as storage place.

The chairs that come along with the table are also very useful to have many people sitting around and helping out with cutting, chopping, kneading etc.

But if your kitchen does not have ample room to accommodate the TABLE AND chairs, you can still do a work around. One can always opt for folding chairs and tables against walls that can be stacked away neatly and used only when required.

Having a buffet counter and spread would be a good idea if you want to save space in the kitchen. All you will need is a few stools and the rest of the people can sit where they feel comfortable.

Quite often we are faced with this no go situation where the kitchen is small and we have no space for a table but we want to have everything in place
