Bottled Water: Bare It All

By Victor Hood

Water, water everywhere but not a drop to drink. You feel you have heard it before, recollecting those horror scenes showing victims of earthquakes, tsunamis, torrential rain and flood. But no. Many people don't drink water directly from the source. Bottled water is said to be a hundred percent pure and free from bacteria, and so we know it's safe to drink.

Thirst is our body's demand for water. We satisfy this need by drinking water. Do we really need pure bottled water? And what about the salts and minerals? Why should we remove these by osmosis? Many authorities, doing research in human health questions the habit of drinking pure water. They say it isn't natural or needed to remove the minerals by osmosis. Is our body genetically designed to accept pure water? Can our health benefit from pure water? These are the questions many scientists ask now.

Nowadays, pure bottle water is a booming business. The countrymen are convinced to think that water from taps and wells are unfit for drinking, and only pure bottled water is.

Even the people in developed countries cultivated their bias against water available from various sources in public places only a couple of decades ago.

Some communities drink water from special sources, one of these are the Hunza citizens who drink the fabled Hunza water, and they lived up to 150 years old. Many studies state that the water is responsible for the citizens' longevity.

It is not only the fabled Hunza but also the springs of Lourdes, the well of Mexico, the Nordeneau Caves in Germany and the Indian Nadana springs are found to be undergoing ionization process naturally during its passage through earth. These waters are negatively charged, are full of hydrogen, and are among the greatest antioxidants. So water with various minerals is proven to be beneficial to the human body.

It seems that the arguments for and against pure bottled water will go on forever. There will be no end to these arguments since there will be studies and researches for both sides.
