Is Bottled Water Good Or Bad For You?

By Victor Hood

Water may be in abundance but not for drinking. This might sound familiar to you, and you might associate it to earthquakes, tsunamis, heavy rain, and flood. No. It is the mantra of everybody - From Australia to Iceland, from Hawaii to San Francisco people are scared to drink water directly from any source. Bottled water carries a declaration that it is 100% pure and free from bacteria and other harmful substances, and is accepted by us as safe to drink.

When our body needs water, we refer to it as thirst. It can be quenched by water intake. Is pure bottled water necessary? Why not some salts and minerals? They can be life saving, so why remove them? Many are researching about the pure water drinking habit. They say leeching of minerals through osmosis is not needed and not natural. Is pure water fit for our body's design? Is this pure water beneficial for us? These are the concerns of scientists now.

Pure bottled water is among the biggest industries in many developing countries nowadays. The populations of these countries which used to carry their drinking water (mostly drawn from the communal wells) or drink directly from the water taps in railway stations are brain washed to think only pure water in bottles are fit to drink.

Even those people in developed countries promoted their bias against water from other sources some years ago.

Some communities drink water from special sources, one of these are the Hunza citizens who drink the fabled Hunza water, and they lived up to 150 years old. Many studies state that the water is responsible for the citizens' longevity.

There are also the springs of Lourdes, the well of Mexico, the Nordeneau Caves in Germany, and the Indian Nadana springs that undergo natural ionization. These waters are found to be one of the greatest antioxidant full of hydrogen and negatively charged. This goes to show that water with minerals is healthy.

Pure bottled water pros and cons will go on forever. Depending upon the results of the ongoing researches, opinions for and against bottled water will continue to flourish without any end.
