Your Get Up and Go Granola Bar

By Chloe Prichards

Too many people often skip their breakfast, but were you aware that a hearty breakfast is actually the most significant meal of the entire day? Filling up your stomach with goodness first thing helps to increase your metabolism and should keep you feeling sharp all throughout the day.

Because it is the most crucial chow time of anyone's entire day, it is important that it's a nutritious meal with all the nutrients that you can need for the whole day. Biotin, also known as vitamin B7, is one of those critical nutrients that our bodies must get every day. Vitamin B7 helps us maintain appropriate cellular respiration levels and can help us feel energetic and strong all the day long.

VITAMIN B7 FOUND IN FOODS

Biotin foods are all around us, each of us only need to be taught which ones these foods are and how we could put together really great tasting meals with them. In this recipe you'll find a perfect biotin-rich recipe that is filled with a day's worth of biotin.

The following recipe makes around 8-12 great granola bars, depending on how big or small you choose to cut them. Making these muesli bars will most likely take fifteen minutes to get ready and twenty-five minutes baking in the oven.

GRANOLA INGREDIENTS

* 2 cups rolled oats

* 1 cup of almonds, chopped

* 2/3 cup local honey

* 1 cup raisins (you can mix in dates or prunes)

* 1 cup unsweetened apple sauce

* 1 tsp cinnamon, ground

* 1 tbsp vanilla, extract

PREPARING

* Preheat your oven to 325 Fahrenheit.

* In an 8x8-inch glass baking pan, line the sides and bottom with parchment paper.

* In a large bowl, stir together honey, cinnamon, applesauce & extract of vanilla. Now mixed, add in oats, stirring until all oats are completely coated. Mix in almonds and raisins until they're coated, too.

* Scoop the mixture into the baking pan. Press your muesli throughout the pan, making sure that it's spread across the entire baking pan. Pack the mixture across the pan.

* Put your baking pan into your oven and bake for twenty-five minutes. Remove the pan from your oven allowing it to cool. If using a metal baking pan, you can even place it into your freezer for a few minutes. If you're using a glass pan, please do not put it into the freezer! You might risk breaking the glass pan, and most importantly you could risk losing your granola bar snacks!

* Once the mix is down to room temperature, remove the granola from the pan by pulling on the wax paper. Cut into bars however large you would like.
