Exploring White Wine

By Nia Lawrence

There are two major classes of wines, and they are the red wine and the white wine. The more famous of these two types is the red wine, which is quite common in many events and parties. On the other hand, white wines are increasingly popular today as more people are becoming aware of the ideal wine and food pairing, and there are also more different varieties than before.

They are generally perfect to be paired with most seafood and white meats like chicken. Since these food items are almost always present on the dining table, it is best to have some of this wine class in the house so that you can serve it to your guests when serving chicken and seafood cuisines on the table. In line with that, it is also best to know the different varieties of white wines. There are actually many, but seven of the most popular among them are the following: Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Semillon, Moscato, Pinot Grigio, Gewurtzraminer, and the Reisling wine.

It is also important to know the other types aside from the top varieties. They are the Kerner, the Chenin Blanc, the Muller-Thargau, the Albino, and the Gruner Veltliner. The list of different wine varieties is getting longer as more winemakers around the world never cease from creating new varieties to give wine lovers a wide array of choices. It is highly recommended that you try each of these different varieties in order to have some idea on their distinct tastes and unique character. Better yet, have your own list of top three wines classes so that it is easier for you to shop for wines.

Try to ensure that Chardonnay wines are part of your list because they are one of the best varieties. They are even considered as one of the all-time favourites. The grapes used to create Chardonnay wines are considered as the queen of grapes. It's no wonder Chardonnay is the varietal used in most champagne wines.

Either way, it still depends on your preferred tastes. What is important is that you should have at least a bottle of white wine in your home, not only to serve it to your guests who prefer to have this variety but also to perfectly match the seafood and chicken dishes on your dining table.
