Most Popular Coffee Brands

By Dave Lashier

Coffee - the drink that gets you charged to start your day. Coffee, the morning drink that lifts our day, thus it is hardly possible to say that this brand is excellent and the other is awful. The unvarnished truth is that there is no very good or incorrect answer to which is the best coffee beans in the world. The top three gourmet coffee brands in the United States are considered not because of their quality but because of their purchases per year contrasted to others.

Via Ready brew which is offered by Starbucks is the top selling coffee today. No surprise here. The blend was introduced to the market in 2009 and made one hundred trillion dollars in that year alone. Today in 2011, it has more than doubled and almost tripled its sales. It is put together in espresso machines and also in pods for most people to serve themselves. The blend of coffees used is a secret which belongs to Starbucks. It is a medium roast gourmet coffee with little color and a sun kissed taste. It is terrific to be able to make all those specialty coffees Starbuck's makes in your very own home.

And now for number two! And we bet you have had a cup of this coffee sometime in the past couple of days and don't even know it! Caribou blending comes in at second, which is owned and marketed by Green Mountain Coffees. This is also a medium roast blend with great taste and fragrance. You will locate this coffee in Dunkin Donuts store all over the country in the fall of 2011. If it is accepted and liked by Dunkin Donut clients it will most likely become number one in the country. Caribou sales in grocery chains and independent stores produced over $ 120 million in 2010. No real surprise here with Caribou coming in as number two.

The third runner up is Folgers, the fourth is Celestial Seasonings, and these two are also owned and roasted by Green Mountains Coffees. If you haven't heard of Folgers coffee you have been living under a rock! They are both blended thoroughly for use with java machines and pods; they are mixed to be used in unique gourmet coffee shop drinks and mixes. Both coffees are for people who enjoy a light, soft roasted brand with little bitterness and after taste. Sales in 2010, even with the tough economy almost reached the one hundred million level, the deal with Dunkin Donuts will probably send both of them over that illustrious mark.

We got you thinking about coffee didn't we? Craving a cup of coffee right about now? Go visit your local grocery store and take joy in one of the above mentioned brands of coffee. I think you will be happy you did! The other choice is to pay a visit to your nearest Seattle's Best or Dunkin Donuts for a fresh brewed cup of gourmet coffee that will clearly please your taste buds. While you're at it savor a glazed sweet roll or jelly donut as well.
