Diwali is one of the most exciting holidays celebrated in India. It is essentially the holiday of light and decoration such as Diwali lanterns, diyas and candles. Lamps are placed in and around houses, offices and shops to draw in prosperity and wealth. Firecrackers, candy, new clothes, jewelry and implements also form the part of Diwali celebrations.

1. Rasgullas
A. K. A Rasogullas, this popular Bengali treat is filled with tasty syrup and just melts in your mouth.
Ingredients:
Cow's Milk - one (1) litre
Vinegar- one big spoon
Sugar -300 grams
Water - one litre
Baking powder - one pinch
Arrowroot powder - one tablespoon
Rose essence - four (4) drops
To prepare:
Boil the milk in a pan and add the vinegar to the boiling milk.
Let is boil up until the milk curdles and thickens.
Strain employing a muslin cloth and wash the remnant (known as chenna) under cold water to get rid of the flavor of vinegar.
Take the chenna and add baking powder and arrowroot powder to it. Mix well until it forms a smooth, glossy dough.
Make little balls and set aside for now.
Boil sugar and water and add the balls to the boiling syrup.
Let is simmer for 10-12 minutes and add rose essence.
Remove from stove and cool in the fridge.
Serve chilled
2. Hasty Tasty
This dish does not require any cooking and is hip among the youngsters. What you want to prepare the dish is;
Roasted split gram - 200 grams
Powdered sugar - 300 grams
Milk powder - one (1) cup
Pure ghee - half cup
Milk cream half cup
Almonds- fifty grams
Cardamom powder- 1 small spoon
Edible silver foil for decoration
To prepare:
Finely grind roasted split gram.
Roughly grind the almonds and now mix with roasted split gram powder.
Add the mix of the ingredients except the silver foil and mix quite well with your either your hands or spatula.
Grease a flat pan and quickly spread the mix on the pan uniformly.
Allow it to cool down in the fridge for one hour.
Decorate now using silver foil and slice in desired shapes to serve.
