It's now that time of year dig out your old knitted jumpers to keep you warm. You've started discussing the options regarding heating the house but decided that wearing a few more layers in doors is the way forward. I've had the conversation a few times with my misses and we're going to try and hold on until mid October.
It's a good time of year but it's also the time of year when you know that you'll be going to work in the dark and coming home in the dark, you won't be able to ride to work on your bike for a while and you'll need to make sure you have enough antifreeze in your car radiator and de icer!
These times are for chilling out in front of the fire, putting your feet up and relaxing. These evenings in are lovely, you can stay in with a good film and squeeze up on the couch and snuggle in together. Last night it was Titantic, an epic and classic film.
The best thing about the chilly weather outside is hot food inside. Roasts, steaming cups of tea with biscuits, hot custard on apple crumble. My view is that the best after dinner sweet is apple crumble. There are so many changes and tweaks you can make with Crumble, adding cinnamon, Demerara sugar, muesli, oats, so many different things to make it your own.
