Have You Had Your Fruit and Veggies Today?

In what way do you consume your fruits and vegetables? Eating fruits and vegetables that are raw had been the way of life with the ancestors. Fluids were also squeezed out from their pulps. Juicing has been a common practice among island people who use tropical fruits such as mangoes and noni. Ayurvedic tradition regards juices as containing medicinal value, remedies for treating ailments, and restoring health and vitality. Juices from limes, oranges, radishes, aloe and mangoes are examples with these benefits.

Eating five portions of vegetable and three portions of fruit is what the National Cancer Society suggested. These days, the dilemma with people is that they have been very busy with so many things and with work that they forget to eat, especially what is needed by their bodies. In 1930, the juicer was invented. It gave very active people an option that considers the health condition of the person, the cost of preparations in time and money, and the convenience it gives its user.

Dr. Norman Walker pioneered the earliest juicer. The process was the produce was grated first and then squeezed through a bag. The first juicer had some setback however because it was so bulky and complicated to operate. On the other hand, the juices were delectable. Now, more juicers out in the market offer a variety of options to match each one's wants.

I was eighteen years old when I started to show interest in my health. From that time onwards, juicing has been a part of my daily routine. After serving my husband for the first time of sandwiches with sprouts in it, he thought I was mad. It was totally different from what they had in Texas where he grew up. He did changed his mind though after he recognized how well we were doing health-wise over the years of juicing. It has become our way of life and have benefitted from it at the same time. It has made us physically fit and mentally sharp as well.

Juicing fruits and vegetables have its benefit. Engulfing it in juice form allows the body to easily suck up big quantities of its nutrients thus providing it with vital enzymes for quick metabolism and stronger immune system. Do you drink yours from a bottle, from a can, or from a freshly pressed produce?

Celery, cucumber and spinach are the vegetables that I frequently use for my juices. Juice extracted from carrots, beets and apples above all is what my spouse love. It has been our daily routine to start our day with a drink of fresh juice in the morning. Preparation may be time consuming at first but when you get used to this routine, it will be snap.

If you have your juicer already, what's stopping you of making your vegetable and fruit juices? Go to the closest supermarket and purchase those new harvests. Have your juice and try to live a healthy lifestyle.
