U.S. Department of Defense at the Pentagon, Tuesday (19/10), announced to the officers who recruit new members of the military to accept applications from gays and lesbians. The decision was to accept them, according to the court's decision to accept people who have openly sexual deviations.

Based in the District of California, the local court ordered the military since a week ago to stop the slogan "Do not Ask, Do not Tell" which became a kind of slogan ban for gays and lesbians in the military for 17 years. Although, on Monday (18/10) yesterday, the Pentagon still hesitant to run a district court decision.

"Recruiters have been given direction and they will process the application letters from prospective new military members acknowledge their gay or lesbian," said Cynthia Smith, a spokesman for the Pentagon, Tuesday (19/10).

Of the Republicans, many of whom were strongly opposed to gays and lesbians to serve openly and be accepted as a member of the military. Since the beginning of this year, senators from the Republican Party have said they would resist any attempt to pass such a policy.
